Mrs Lisa Parish

Co-opted Governor

First and foremost, I am a mum to two boys so life is always busy! Our eldest son attends Wrockwardine Wood Infants School, having previously attended the School Nursery, and our youngest son was born in 2019. My husband is a Behaviour Mentor and Interventions Practitioner at a local secondary school, having previously been an Ofsted registered childminder.

I am originally from Ellesmere Port, Cheshire and I have lived in Telford since 2008. I have a BBA (Hons) in Management from Lancaster University and I gained my PGCE in Business Education from
Edge Hill University. I have been a Business teacher since 2006 and I currently work at an outstanding school in Bilston, Wolverhampton. I am Quality Nominee, with responsibility for maintaining the quality assurance for all vocational courses taught at the school, and I also lead the Excellence Academy for Key Stage 4, providing a dedicated programme of enrichment, mastery and guidance for the most ambitious students in the school. This is a challenging role but one that I thoroughly enjoy.

I have experience teaching GCSE, A Level and BTEC qualifications, supporting trainee and newly qualified teachers, contributing to the school’s development plan and undertaking preparations for
Ofsted. I work as an examiner and moderator for various examination boards, marking a range of external examinations sat by students around the country.

In July 2021 I was awarded Fellowship of the Chartered College of Teaching in recognition of my commitment, contribution and achievements within teaching. I am very proud to join a group of
over 1300 teachers nationally who are Fellows, and I continue to support the work of the Chartered College of Teaching in raising the profile of the teaching profession.

It is this broad set of skills and experience that I would be able to bring to the role of Parent Governor, supporting the ongoing development of the Federation.

I feel that my professional background, combined with my experience of being a parent of a child attending the School, give me a solid basis from which I can be successful in the role of Parent
Governor and help to ensure that the Federation will continue to move from strength to strength.
