SEND Policy

This policy sets out how Wrockwardine Wood Infant School & Oakengates Nursery Federation meets its statutory duties and supports children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

We believe every child is unique and deserves the opportunity to flourish. Our SEND Policy explains the framework we use to identify needs early, remove barriers to learning, and provide inclusive, high-quality provision so that children with SEND can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

The policy outlines our graduated approach (assess, plan, do, review), the four broad areas of need, and the roles and responsibilities of staff, leaders and governors. It also explains how we work in partnership with parents/carers and external professionals to ensure support is tailored to individual children and regularly reviewed.

If you would like to discuss your child’s needs or have any questions about SEND provision, please contact:

    • Wrockwardine Wood Infant School and Nursery SENDCo: Mrs Hayley McNamee

    • Oakengates Nursery School SENDCo: Mrs Hannah Firmstone

We are committed to working alongside families to ensure every child feels safe, included and supported, in line with our federation values of Love, Laugh, Learn.
